Thank you in advance

PROTON BANK RESCUE FROM GREEK AUTHORITIES AND THE SCANDAL OF INSURANCE COMPANY ASPIS PRONOIA

The rescueof depositorsofPROTON BANKshowedstrongreflexesofthe Greek government, whichmade anobviousmovetoprotectthe savingsof peoplewho have neverparticipatedin the creationof hugelossesin this bankinginstitution. At the same timeactedwiselyprotectingoneof the pillarsof the modernfinancial system, taking care not tobreak thefeeling ofconfidencetowards thebankingsystem.

In addition to this move Greek authorities affirmed the essential role of successful surveillance by assuming the responsibilities before any catastrophic results for the system itself.

The Association “Affected Persons by Aspis Pronoia”, however, wonderswhy the governmentdid not act withthe samereflexes toamuch simplerissue thatcould have beensolvedwithin a few days.

Two years after the revocation of license of the insurance companies Aspis Pronoia and Commercial Value people do not have accessto their moneyand to their valuableinsurancebenefits.

Are theysecond-class citizens? Didn’t they paytheir insuranceobligationsproperlyand consistently? Dobankcustomersenjoymoreprivileges?

Insurance companies are supervisedby the same mechanismthat supervises banks and theyareoneof the pillarsof the financial system.  Aren’t they as much important for the economy as banks?

Five thousand people insured with Aspis are preparing for litigation against the Greek state in order to claim their compensations (over 500 million euro), and we wonder why the Greek authorities are unwilling to find a proper solution like they did with Proton Bank.
